Tucked up Charity Road in Old Vythiri — the quieter, less commercial side of Wayanad — Vythiri Mist is a boutique heritage villa resort rather than a chain property. Wooden interiors, earthy tones and warm lighting carry the feel of traditional Kerala, while large windows frame the jungle right from the bed.

Mornings arrive with mist rolling over the hills and birdsong from the trees; evenings drift toward the campfire and dinner under the stars. It's intimate and unhurried — and, unusually for the area, genuinely pet-friendly, with dedicated pet areas and a formal pet agreement.
